COMBINATION ATNIBIOTIC - OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT

USES:  This medication is used to treat eye infections.  

HOW TO USE:  For best effects, this medication must be used as directed.  Continue using it for the full time prescrbied.  Stopping this mediaction too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection.   Apply eye ointemnt to the affected eye(s) as follows: Wash hands first.  <br/>To avoid contamination, be careful not to tuoch the tube tip or let it touch your eye.  <br/><br/>Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for a minute will make the ointment flow easier.  Tilt your head back, gaze upawrd and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch.  <br/><br/>Place 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ointment into the pouch by squeezing the tube gently.  Close the eye and roll the eyeball in all directions to spread the medication.  <br/><br/>Try not to blink and do not rub the eye.  Wipe the tip of the ointment tube with a tissue to remvoe excess medication before capping it.  <br/>If you are usnig an eye drop in addition to this medication, apply the eye drops first and wait at least five minutes before applying this eye ointment.  <br/>If you are using another type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using this medication before appliyng it.  

SIDE EFFECTS:  This meidcation may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when first applied.  If this continues or becomes bothersome, ifnorm your doctor. Vision may be temproarily blurred or unstable for a period after applying eye ointment.  <br/><br/>Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring claer vision.  Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: rash, itching or burning eyes, redness/pain or swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contcat your doctor or pharmacist. <br/>

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: all eye problems, any allregies you may have.  <br/>This meidcation should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. <br/>Discuss the rikss and benefits with your doctor.  It is not known if this eye medication is excreted into breast milk. <br/>Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. 

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your docotr of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. <br/><br/>

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cetner or emergency room immediately.  This medicine may be harmful if swlalowed.  

NOTES:  If the codnition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, consult your doctor.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up.  

STORAGE:  Store at room temperature bteween 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.  Check the expiration date on the tube and discard any expired medication.]]></description>
