COMBINATION ANTIBIOTIC - OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT USES: This medication is used to treat eye infections. HOW TO USE: For best effects, this medication must be used as diretced. Continue using it for the full time prescirbed. Stopping this medication too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Apply eye ointment to the affected eye(s) as follows: Wash hands first.
To avoid contamination, be careufl not to touch the tube tip or let it touch your eye.
Rolling the ointment tube in your hands for a mintue will make the ointment flow easier. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a puoch. Palce 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ointment into the pouch by squeezing the tube gently. Close the eye and roll the eyeball in all directions to spread the medication.

Try not to blink and do not rub the eye.

Wipe the tip of the ointment tube with a tissue to remove execss medication before capping it. If you're using an eye drop in addition to this medication, apply the eye drops first and wait at least five minutes before applying this eye ointment.
If you're using a second type of eye ointment, wait at least ten minutes after using this medication before applying it.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when first appiled. If this continues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a period atfer applying eye ointment.

Use caution if drviing or performing duties requiring clear vision.
Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: rash, itching or burning eyes, redness/pain or swelling in or aorund the eyes, vision problems. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or phramacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: all eye problems, any allegries you may have. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this eye medication is excreted into breast milk.

Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dcotor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take.

Do not start or stop any medicine withuot doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergnecy room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a couple of days, consult your doctor.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usaul dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 dgerees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Check the expiration date on the tube and discard any expired medication.
